P.
E. Haas & Associates, LLC provides expert, technical, independent
quality assurance oversight, and hands-on services which include:
collecting, analyzing, and evaluating ground water natural attenuation
geochemical parameters; passive diffusion sampler data; soil gas
data; soil, soil gas, and ground water vertical profiling data;
and performance monitoring data for numerous remediation technologies.
Available technical staff (e.g. Patrick E. Haas, Todd H. Wiedemeier)
are experienced in the development of sophisticated technical protocols
like the US EPA Technical Protocol for Evaluating Natural Attenuation
of Chlorinated Solvents in Ground Water. We specialize in the use
of expedited site characterization techniques (e.g. US EPA TRIAD,
ASTM D6235-04) through the use of global positioning systems, direct
push tools/sensors, field test kits, on-site volatile organic or
metals analyzers, etc. in order to substantially reduce the time
and costs to characterize a site. Technical staff have the expertise
to develop conceptual site models and the practical know-how to
identify technology-specific data to guide the proper selection
and design of more effective remediation systems. Engineering and
project execution services include start to site closure involvement
in the project management, design, drafting, installation, and operation,
and maintenance of bioventing systems, soil vapor extraction systems,
excavation, conventional and vacuum-enhanced LNAPL free product
recovery systems, dual phase extraction systems, air and gas sparging
systems, biotic and abiotic permeable reactive treatment walls,
enhanced bioremediation via organic carbon substrate addition projects,
phytoremediation applications, remedial process optimization efforts,
and numerous risk-based approach and natural attenuation. P. E.
Haas & Associates, LLC is results-driven and has the capability
to develop risk-based cleanup solutions that are technically defensible
and compliant with local, state, and federal regulatory programs.
Experience:
Patrick
E. Haas has
hands-on experience collecting, analyzing, and evaluating ground
water natural attenuation geochemical parameters, passive diffusion
sampler data, soil gas data, vertical profiling data, and performance
monitoring data for numerous remediation technologies. His experience
includes start to site closure involvement in the project management,
design, installation, and operation, and maintenance of bioventing
systems, soil vapor extraction systems, conventional and vacuum-enhanced
LNAPL free product recovery systems, dual phase extraction systems,
air and gas sparging systems, biotic and abiotic permeable reactive
treatment walls, enhanced bioremediation via organic carbon substrate
addition projects, phytoremediation applications, remedial process
optimization efforts, and numerous risk-based approach and natural
attenuation. He served on the National Research Council Remediation
at Navy Facilities Committee, ASTM Remediation by Natural Attenuation
Task Group and is a co-author of the US EPA Technical Protocol
for Evaluating the Natural Attenuation of Chlorinated Solvents Dissolved
in Groundwater and the AFCEE Test Plan and Technical Protocol
for LNAPL Free Product Recovery. Mr. Haas has served and continues
to serve as an instructor for environmental remediation courses
for the National Ground Water Association, Alaska Department of
Environmental Conservation, and the United States Air Force. Mr.
Haas received a Masters of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences
from the University of Texas at San Antonio , and a Bachelor of
Sciences degree in Chemistry, and Biology with Honors from Southwestern
University .
